Do Children’s Books Know Borders? New Paths and Practices in International Rights Business

Official Conference Room (Copyright Zone)

Through foreign rights exchange, books travel outside of their cultural context and thrive to make their way to readers around the world. Is success granted for international best-sellers on every market? What strategies can publishers develop to promote their original contents internationally? How to materialise these objectives through practical business cooperation? Those ever-lasting questions are particularly relevant to Chinese publishers, who have long been “importers” of contents, and are now thriving to promote their local production worldwide. Likewise these questions are relevant to foreign publishers willing to get a better understanding of the Chinese publishing market’s expectations and work ways.

In the light of the current post-pandemic context which have led to new paths in the international rights business, this seminar intends to open a practical discussion between publishing and rights experts successful in asserting their position on the international marketplace.
