Green Garden, Green Books, Green Future: Discover More About the ‘Books & Seeds’ Exhibition

Last Chance to Propose Books for the Children Plus Special Exhibition
bologna2021

Bologna International Children's Book Fair (BCBF) in 2021

Spring might last longer than usual and outspread until the opening of the next Shanghai International Children's Book Fair thanks to the Children Plus–Books & Seeds exhibition we are patiently growing for you. And wait! we are counting on your help to make this project even greener and lusher! Here is how…

The Books and Seeds exhibition project is work in progress since 2015, year in which a first edition of the exhibition was held at the Bologna Children’s Book Fair and at the Milan universal exhibition (Expo Milano) dedicated to “Feeding the Planet”.
Since then, the world has changed, and countless exciting books have been published with the aim to help Humans, and especially children, explore new ways to connect with Nature and understand their environment.

For this second new exhibition, an updated title selection is being presently curated by a team of experts associated to the Bologna Children’s Book Fair. It is an open process that welcomes new proposals by children’s book publishers from all around the world.

Located in a premium location of CCBF and accessible to all visitors, the Books & Seeds exhibition will feature over 150 original editions of illustrated books in all languages. Taking seeds as a metaphor of this connexion, the exhibition intends to follow the course of a seed from the moment it is planted to the moment it reaches our plates. Agriculture, seasons, gardening, cooking are among the many themes covered in the project...

To grasp the spirit and scope of this exhibition, what best than hear one of our curators give us a little taste of its contents? From her luxuriant garden, Grazia Gotti (Academia Drosselmeier/Cooperativa Culturale Giannino Stoppani) shows us a few gems that she has already picked for the exhibition, just like ripe fruits…
