Thille Dop

Thille Dopwas born in 1960 in Wageningen and currently lives in Amsterdam. Children’s books have always been her passion. After studying Library Science and History at the University of Amsterdam, she  moved towards a career in children’s publishing starting in 1991,  After serving as marketing and Publicity Manager for the publishing house Contact/LS, she became children’s book editor at Unieboek in 2001 and set up Unieboek’s Kitt imprint. Working as a children’s and YA Senior Publisher since 2004, Thille Dop has been asked to start brand-new children’s publishing houses in two occasions throughout her career.: Pimento in 2004 and Moon (part of Overamstel publishers) in 2007.

In 2015, the publishing house Luitingh-Sijthoff entrusted her with the direction of a new children’s and YA imprint, a challenge she happily accepted. The list features both Dutch and foreign books in translation, ranging from fiction, non-fiction, commercial and literary titles, and includes many prize-winning international authors.

Luitingh-Sijthoff (LS) is a dynamic publishing house with a rich history. The publishing company was founded in 1989 by a merger between A.W. SijthoffUitgeversmaatschappij (founded in 1851) and Luitingh publishers (founded in 1947). Both publishing houses provided a wide range of fiction titles, which remains until nowa strength of LS. They publish novels, thrillers, fantasy books, and also non-fiction titles and children's books , including Jessie Burton, Graeme Simsion (The Rosie Project), George R.R. Martin, Dan Brown, Stephen King and Daniel Cole. In 2015 LS started their children’s and YA-imprint, run by experienced publisher Thille Dop. Their list is known for high-quality publications, for their bold marketing and their reliable and customer-friendly sales. LS wants to provide a valuable and memorable reading experience with every book it publishes. LS children’s and YA publishes prize-winning and popular authors from abroad such as Meg Rosoff, Piers Torday, Benji Davies, RutaSepetys, Stephanie Garber, Jessica Townsend, and Gary Northfield. Dutch authors are an important part of their strength with EnneKoens, MarjaBaseler& Annemarie van den Brink, Wilma Geldof, Stefan Buijsman, Gemma Venhuizen, and many more. LS children’s and YA Imprint publishes books that children love to read and that grand-parents want to buy for them.
