Jury statement:
“In an idealistic and humorous tone, the book amusingly unfolds a mystery story of a boy from Red Dam Village located in the south of Yangtze River (…) The character embodies a kind and simple and endearing children, whose journey is a reflection of how socialism with Chinese characteristics has brought fresh changes to the country’s rural areas. The story-teller brilliantly demonstrates her literary power as a skilful writer”.
