Ivan Fedechko graduated from Lviv National University in Ukraine. Since 2013 he has been working in Vydavnytstvo Staroho Leva (The Old Lion Publishing House) as Foreign Rights Manager and since 2018 as Rights Director. During this time, The Old Lion Publishing House has become the first exhibitor from Ukraine in several international book fairs such as Beijing International Book Fair 2016, Seoul International Book Fair 2017 and Guadalajara International Book Fair 2017.
The Old Lion Publishing House (Vydavnytstvo Staroho Leva) was founded in Lviv, Ukraine, like a traditional publishing house of children's literature. Now, The Old Lion stands for a wide range of books aimed at readers aged 0 to adults, including board books, fairy tales, poems for kids, stories for schoolchildren, teen series, poetry, novels, atlases and albums, and even anti-stress coloring books. It publishes nearly 130 titles per year, both Ukrainian authors and translated literature. The Old Lion is famous for its prize-winning Loudly, softly, in a whisper and I see that by Romana Romanyshyn and Andriy Lesiv.
