1.º Direito (First Floor Right)

This book is for people who enjoy watching other people, just like Graça, the main character of a story told with creative colours, criminal outlines and strokes of international conspiracy. Graça suspects that her neighbour across the street is planning a robbery. True or false? Who knows? On our way, we will get to know the many lives inhabiting the building in front. Who is watching whom? More will be known at the end of the ongoing investigation. Loosely inspired in Alfred Hitchcock’s 1954 movie “Rear Window”, First Floor Right story is full of creative restlessness, and a tribute to Hal Pereira, Hitchcock’s art director.

“An exceptional example of how to create a suspended atmosphere by using one single colour orange-red palette, which intensifies a sense of restless mystery, and where conspiracy and quirkiness are faintly discernible. The silhouette of a child lurking in the shadow helps build the tension and conflict of the story as well as setting an appealing composition in the artwork. The book is a fascinating, playful tribute to Hitchcock, the Master of Suspense”.
