Pierdomenico Baccalario

Pierdomenico was born in 1974 in Acqui Terme, a small town in Monferrato, Italy, where he grew up surrounded by books.

The library in his family home contains more than 20,000 volumes.A writer and journalist, his books have sold millions of copies worldwide and have been translated into more than 30 languages.

Today he is considered one of the most important children’s authors. He is also the founder of Book on a Tree, a real storytelling agency in which authors and illustrators work as a team to build collaborative circles with publishers around the world.One of his latest books, The Desert Foxes, was a finalist for the 2019 Strega Prize Ragazze e Ragazzi.
