Patricia Geis

Patricia Geis was born and lives in Barcelona. She studied Graphic Design at the Escuela Eina in Barcelona, and earneda Bachelor of Fine Arts in Computer Graphics at the New York Institute of Technology. After graduating, she worked as a graphic designer in an advertising agency in Barcelona. In 1996 she started her own graphicdesign and illustration studio where she develops editorial projects, packaging, paper engineering and character and toy design.

She has three children—Sergio, Inés and María—and a cat.She has written, designed and illustrated over sixty children's books, which were published in Spain, France, the UK, USA, Germany,Korea, China, Italy and Portugal, among others.

She has gained great recognition for her non-fiction books for children, especially thosededicated to art, such as the “Meet the Artist” series and Draw Like an Artist.

Her works earned several international awards, including the Visual Book Design 2009, the International Latino Book Awards Best Children’s Nonfiction Picture Book 2010 and the Junceda Award 2015, on top of being featured into recognised list like the White Ravens.
