Adolfo Serra

Born in Teruel (Spain) in 1980, Adolfo Serra graduated in Advertising and Public Relations. But he soon returned to his childhood passion—drawing. He looked for his old pencils and watercolours and studied illustration at the School of Art 10 in Madrid. Since then, his table is full of colours, papers and textures. And the rest remains to be written, or better, illustrated.

His illustrations have been selected in several international contests and exhibitions—Bologna Children´s Book Fair Exhibition, Sharjah Exhibition for Children´s Book Illustration, IberoAmerican Catalog of Illustration, Mostra Internazionalle d'Illustrazione per l'infanzia de Sàrmede (Italy) and 4th CJ Picture Book Awards (Korea).

His wordless version of Little Red Ridding Hood is published in Spain, Germany, France and Mexico, where it won several accolades.

Part of his professional activity is dedicated to workshops and teaching laboratories related to illustration and drawing, both for children and adults.

In 2015 he won the 19th "A la Orilla del Viento" Picture Book Award organized by Fondo de Cultura Económica.
